Stephen Philion Short bio
Dr. Philion 是美國明尼蘇達州聖克勞德州立大學（St. Cloud State University）社會學系教授，曾獲提名並入選美國大學校園影響力（US Campus Compact.）的全國獎項Thomas Erlich公民參與教授獎（Civically Engaged Faculty Award） 決選名單。他在2013年和St. Cloud社區與勞工團體的領袖合作成立大明尼蘇達地區工人中心（Greater Minnesota Worker Center），並擔任主席。
學術上，他出版中國社會主義轉型過程中的工人民主 （Workers' Democracy in China's Transition from Socialism）, (Routledge: Taylor and Francis, 2009)。他也在2009年參與成立SCSU明尼蘇達移工研究小組並被任命為主任。他曾在臺灣住過五年，並在中國待過兩年。在中國，他研究私有化（或全球化）對兩岸工人的影響。並訪談中國的下崗工人與勞工運動組織以及支持者。並在2013年，協助組織兩岸三地抗議台資企業從廣州脫產回台的跨國抗爭。
